An Insurance Plan for your Muscles
When you’re pushing yourself during training and racing, your muscles need a boosted supply of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) to help protect them from damage and to help rebuild. BCAA Capsules may help maintain mental clarity, promote muscle recovery, and enhance muscle growth while you’re pushing your limits.† Each capsule delivers a 4:1:1 ratio of the three BCAAs (L-Leucine, L-Valine, and L-Isoleucine) to help promote muscle recovery along with B Vitamins that can help facilitate amino acid metabolism and energy production during exercise.†
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT ARE BCAAS?
Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins, and proteins make up the structure of the body, including muscles. Amino acids are either produced in the body (“nonessential”), or they must be supplied from the diet (“essential”). BCAAs are essential amino acids, meaning they are not made in the body, yet they constitute more than one third of the protein found in human muscle tissue. Rich dietary sources of BCAAs can include dairy, egg, meat, poultry and fish.
WHO SHOULD TAKE BCAAS?
This product is meant for anyone that wants to further support their energy and recovery efforts. BCAAs act as an additional energy source for the working muscles, support muscle recovery, boost immunity and help you get more out of your workouts.† This is also a great product for the vegan or vegetarian athlete who does not consume animal proteins but would like to get in BCAAs to support recovery.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I TAKE?
As little as 1500 mg (2 capsules) can enhance muscle repair and prevent muscle breakdown. We recommend 2-4 capsules before, every 3-4 hours during, and/or immediately after exercise for the best results.
CAN I TAKE BCAAS DURING EXERCISE?
Yes! Along with the BCAAs found in our other GU products, taking 2-4 BCAA capsules every 3-4 hours during exercise can help protect your muscles from damage and may result in less muscle soreness following intense or prolonged activity. We like to think of them as a muscle insurance policy.
