Carabiner Clip

This carabiner perfectly aligns with the ruggedness and security that my etrex 22 offers. The clip that slides into the back of the GPS is very sturdy given that it's plastic - so much that it is somewhat difficult to remove it when trying to access the battery compartment. I would much rather have that problem compared to something that feels thin and breakable, with the potential to fall off somewhere on your trek/hike.

The one thing I am unsure of is how long the carabiner clip itself will last in the Newfoundland elements. I like to put my gear through the tests during summer and fall. My GPS is normally situated right next my my shoulder, facing outward on the strap for quick access; so, it faces quite a bit of weather. Time will tell, but the carabiner is holding up excellently at this point, and I am very happy with the peace of mind it offers for transporting and securing my GPS.
