manufacturing problem?

I have bought several pair of Vasque hiking boots over the past 20 years. They have been my go to boot as they have always been a good fit for my feet. This recent pair of Breeze boots must have had a manufacturing problem as there was a hard lump across the instep that felt like a speedbump. They were painful to walk on and I returned them. I hope they will be refunded.
